An Energy Renaissance for Louisiana
Unleashing American Energy with Carbon Capture
The MAGA Energy Project fights for an America First energy future with jobs, security, and strength for Louisiana families.
President Donald Trump supports unleashing American Energy.
“By supporting cutting-edge technologies like carbon capture and storage… the Trump Administration is ensuring America leads in both energy production and environmental innovation.”

Trump’s Energy Plan is Working - Right Here in Louisiana!
Louisiana is leading the way in America’s energy resurgence. Across the state, carbon capture projects are helping power new investment, create jobs, and keep American industry competitive.
Based on seven major CCUS projects currently under evaluation, the opportunity for Louisiana is enormous. These projects represent roughly $6 billion in industrial investment across 20 parishes, generating thousands of jobs and billions in economic activity statewide.
President Trump’s America First energy agenda is cutting red tape and putting states in charge — helping projects move faster and bringing paychecks to Louisiana families sooner.
President Trump’s America First energy plan is cutting red tape and putting states in charge. That means projects move faster and paychecks reach families sooner.
$48 billion in capital investment
Major industrial projects across Louisiana tied to carbon capture development.
39,900 construction jobs
Supporting thousands of Louisiana workers building the next generation of energy infrastructure.
More than $600 million in state and local tax revenue at stake and $1 billion for local governments during construction.
Funding schools, roads, and communities across Louisiana.
$26.8 billion in total economic activity
Projected statewide impact from seven major CCUS projects currently under evaluation.
Community benefits packages
in progress, delivering direct local support alongside growth.
Reduces dependence
on nations like Russia, China, and Venezuela so that Louisiana’s energy industry can continue to grow while meeting emission targets.
When America invests in itself, Louisiana wins big.
Louisiana Leading the Energy Revolution
Louisiana isn’t just competing with Texas, we’re competing with the world. Major investors are choosing Louisiana for multi-billion-dollar projects in steel, data, LNG, and advanced manufacturing. With international companies lining up to build here, Louisiana is proving that when America invests in itself, we don’t just compete, we win big.
Community Benefits:
These projects bring real money back home which will strengthen schools, improve public safety, and fund law enforcement and infrastructure across Louisiana’s parishes.
- Plaquemines Parish reported an increased tax revenue driven by carbon capture infrastructure projects. The school system implemented a 10% raise for all teachers and staff, citing long-term economic growth
- Cameron Parish announced a 15% pay raise for teachers and school leaders, thanks to carbon-related projects in the area.
Why It Matters for Families
Protects Jobs
keeping Louisiana workers building here, not overseas.
Puts America First
homegrown technology, built by American companies.
Helps Companies
Meet Regulations while protecting high-paying careers.
Keeps Louisiana Strong
billions in investment and thousands of new opportunities.
Delivers on Trump’s Promise
unleash American energy, driving a true American renaissance.
Carbon Capture & Storage or “CCS”
Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) means capturing CO₂ from factories and power plants before it goes into the air and storing it safely underground. It’s like putting a lid on pollution.
Why is it important?
It keeps the air cleaner while still letting people make the energy and products we need. It helps protect our health, keeps our communities safe, and makes sure families can keep good jobs.
Locked Away for Good
When CO₂ is stored underground, it is trapped under thick rock layers. Over time, some of it even turns into rock through a process called mineralization, which makes storage more permanent and secure the longer it stays underground.
CCS stores carbon over a mile underground, that’s like stacking four Empire State Buildings on top of each other. It’s far below where people live or get drinking water, locked safely under thick rock layers.
It’s Safe, Tested, and Community Focused
Scientists and engineers have been safely storing CO₂underground for more than 50 years in the U.S. and around the world.
Storage happens more than a mile below the surface, under thick rock layers that act like a natural lock box.
Drinking water is fully protected because CO₂ is stored far below freshwater aquifers, with multiple rock layers acting as barriers.
CCS is regulated at the state level, giving communities a voice and ensuring eminent domain is handled fairly, with projects moving forward only under strict safety and local review.
CCS strengthens Louisiana’s economy by supporting good jobs, thriving communities, and the local tax base that funds schools, roads, and public safety.
Myths vs. Facts
MYTH
CCS is untested and experimental.
FACT
Carbon capture has been around for over 50 years. Since the 1970s, the U.S. has safely stored more than 200 million tons of carbon dioxide underground.
MYTH
CCS is just part of Biden’s “Green New Deal.”
FACT
Supported by President Trump’s energy agenda, CCS is driven by private investment and industry demand, not federal mandates. Louisiana alone has $75B+ in announced projects leading America’s energy comeback.
MYTH
CCS will kill Louisiana jobs.
FACT
Over 16,000 new jobs are already tied to CCS projects in Louisiana, with some of the largest industrial investments in state history.
MYTH
CCS is only for oil and gas.
FACT
Backed by President Trump’s push for American energy dominance, CCS supports major industries like steel, ammonia, hydrogen, and data centers — the reason global leaders like Meta and Hyundai are investing in Louisiana.
MYTH
CCS will poison drinking water.
FACT
For more than 50 years, CO₂ has been safely stored over a mile underground in rock formations sealed by thick layers of caprock, far below aquifers, with no recorded cases of it entering drinking water.
MYTH
CCS pipelines are unsafe.
FACT
Under the Trump Administration, modern CO₂ pipelines are held to the same rigorous federal safety and monitoring standards as natural gas lines, which are regulated, inspected, and required to shut down immediately if any irregularity is detected.
